Chateau Haut-Chaigneau
OUR HISTORIC AND EMBLEMATIC CUVEE
Château Haut-Chaigneau* is made from a careful blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from different types of terroir, all planted on molasse but more or less gravelly with the presence of "iron dross" typical of the appellation.
The quality of the terroirs exploited, the balance of the blend associated with careful vinification and aging, allow the production of a wine notably recognized for its finesse and elegance and its superb development during aging in the bottle.
*from “Haut” because it is located on the highest point of the “Chaigneau” or “Chagneau” plateau, old French derived from the Latin “Castanea” meaning the presence of an oak (or chestnut) forest in the Middle Ages at this location.
Age of vines: Over 40 years old
VARIETY: 15% Cabernet franc, 85% Merlot
